About
Andy Nusser grew up in the fishing village of Cadaqués along Spain's Costa Brava and opened Casa Mono on Irving Place in 2004. One Michelin star every year since 2009, three New York Times stars. The small room seats 13 tables and 15 bar seats with a mosaic tile floor and floor-to-ceiling windows that open onto the street. The tapas are built around adventurous proteins: sweetbreads, cockscombs, pig's feet alongside razor clams a la plancha and bone marrow with tomato jam. Scrambled eggs with uni, confit goat. Bar Jamon next door serves Iberico ham sliced paper-thin and is worth the visit before or after. OpenTable opens at 10 AM, 31 days out.
