About
Chef Takanori Akiyama runs a 12-seat kaiseki counter in the East Village named for the mid-autumn harvest festival honoring the moon. The room is lit to match: illuminated shelves of ceramics, mirrored panels, a central moon motif. The seasonal progression is imaginative and precise: chilled caviar with warm scrambled eggs and potato puree, chopped scallop with sea buckthorn sauce and nori crisp. The sake selection is exceptional and available a la carte alongside the beverage pairing. Prepaid, non-refundable, 2.5 to 3 hours. Tock drops at 8 PM on the 1st of the month for two months out. OpenTable drops at midnight, 61 days out.
